NOx Trading Program


New Unit Set-Aside(NUSA)

    This program is for new CAIR units that commenced commercial operation on or after January 1, 2006, (on or after May 1, 2006 for seasonal) and do not have CAIR NOx allocations for annual or seasonal control period pursuant to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 225.445 and 225.545, respectively. A new unit may request NUSA allowances after a new unit has operated during one control period and no later than March 1 of the control period for which the NUSA allowances are being requested. NUSA applications are due March 1st for both annual and seasonal. NUSA CAIR NOx allocations are submitted to USEPA by October 31st (July 31st for seasonal).
