Biennial Report
This document was the first of its kind for the Illinois EPA and one of
the first of its kind for an Illinois state agency. It is intended to
provide a more reader-friendly and less technical overview of IEPA
activities for all the citizens of Illinois. It evolved from and replaces
the Annual Environmental Conditions Report we issued in previous years.
Annual Environmental Conditions Report
In previous years, the Illinois EPA prepared and distributed an annual
environmental conditions report to help focus attention on environmental
results. The Agency's commitment to preparing the Annual Environmental
Conditions Report is discussed in the Environmental Performance Agreement
between the Illinois EPA and Region V of the U.S. EPA.
The Agency welcomes comments and suggestions on the goals and indicators outlined
in these web pages as well as the complete environmental conditions report
and seeks a continuing dialogue with the public and interest groups that
have a stake in environmental protection. Copies of the complete Annual
