American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009
This web page is the portal to what will be an evolving list of projects
funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that have met all
of the regulatory, legal and financial requirements, and completed bidding
and contract awards and have been certified by the Director of Illinois EPA
as eligible for ARRA funding. The list will be evolving because under ARRA,
the state allocates the available funding based on “readiness to proceed” since
one of the primary goals of the federal stimulus legislation is to move projects
forward as quickly as possible to create badly-needed jobs during the current
economic crisis while meeting critical community infrastructure needs and
complying with regulations to protect the environment and public health.
The list of projects also complies with the requirements under ARRA for transparency
in the awarding of funding, including providing information on the web.
