Employees of the Month
Lisa
Bonnett, Director's Office, Administration, is
the December Employee of the Month. Lisa was recognized for her
initiative in moving Fiscal Services into the computer age by
getting the Accounting Information System put on-line, saving the
Agency from having to track items on paper for another fiscal
year. She was also commended for her work in formulating Agency
budgets, her efforts in employee training while temporarily
serving as Administration's budget officer, and her willingness
to devote additional after-work hours to complete budget
projects.
Ken
Drewenski, Bureau of Water, Grants Section, was
the January 1997 selection as Agency Employee of the Month. An
accountant in the grants section that awards federal funds to
municipalies for sewer system upgrades, he oversees repayment
distribution, and functions as his section's "computer
guru," serving as back-up on programs tracking awards and
payment schedules, and assists fellow workers in mastering new
programs.
Maria
King, Division of Laboratories, Champaign, is the
February Agency Employee of the Month. Her designation recognized
her abilities to set up, run, and "problem-solve" with
new equipment and programs, most notably in determining needs and
solving instrumental problems related to the federal Information
Collection Rule. She is a contributing member of the National
Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program, the Good
Automated Laboratory Practices sub-team, and the Champaign Lab
safety team.
