June 1 Deadline For Farm Award Nominations
Nominations for the second annual Farm
Stewardship Award sponsored by the Illinois EPA will be accepted
until June 1, 1997.
The award honors members of the agricultural community who
incorporate comprehensive environmental and resource conservation
practices into their farming activities. It was inaugurated in
1995, and the first winners were honored during Farm Day at the
1996 Illinois State Fair, in Springfield.
Entrants can be self-nominated, or individuals or
organizations aware of qualified recipients may submit
nominations for them. Application forms and additional
information can be obtained from local Farm Bureau or Soil and
Water Conservation Agency offices.
