Turning Kids on to Science

IEPA employees participate in Career Conference

On March 13 and 14, employees from the Divisions of Land and Community Relations and the Office of Pollution Prevention took part in the annual Chemical Industry Council of Illinois (CICI) Career Conference at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

This annual CICI Career Conference targets junior high and high school students. The goal of the conference is to help foster interest in the sciences among these students.

The IEPA booth included several hands-on experiments and demonstrations for the students. U.S. EPA, ONDEO Nalco, Abbot Laboratories, Carus Chemical Company, BASF, Equistar Chemicals, UOP, Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry and Heritage Environmental Services were also represented at the conference.
