(Left) IEPA Deputy Director Bernard Killian, on behalf of the Agency, on April 6, accepted a special "Loyalty Award" from University of Illinois at Springfield Chancellor Richard Ringeisen recognizing the agency's leadership for three decades in mentoring Graduate Public Service Interns (GPSI). (Right) Darien Siddall, a GPSI intern in the IEPA's Office of Brownfields Assistance, is one of 32 current interns, and spoke of his sense of accomplishment assisting communities to obtain grants for cleanups of contaminated sites for redevelopment.

IEPA Bureau of Land Chief Bill Child (left) presented a proclamation from Governor Rod Blagojevich recognizing the 60th Annual Lincoln Trail Hike, to Warren Smith, Unit Commissioner from Boy Scouts of America Abraham Lincoln Council, Lincoln Home District. For the 11th consecutive year, IEPA staff volunteers provided support services to more than 1,300 Scouts who picked up litter along the 20-mile trail between Petersburg and Springfield on April 23.
