Environmental Education Web Resources
- EE-Link: This website provides
helpful links to environmental education resources on the Internet,
such as classroom curricula, grants, and jobs. It also includes a calendar
of national EE events and links to other organizations and projects.
- Environmental Education Association
of Illinois: This is a website for the Environmental Education Association
of Illinois (EEAI). This site contains Illinois specific resources including
educational materials, events, awards, and links to other useful environmental
education websites.
- Envirothon: Envirothon
is a national, outdoor, environmental competition for high school students.
Five students compete as a team in the areas of aquatics, forestry,
soils, wildlife, and a specific environmental issue that changes each
year. The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts
sponsors and coordinates the Illinois competition.
- Smog City: an interactive air
pollution simulator that shows how your choices, environmental factors,
and land use contribute to air pollution.
- U.S. EPA Environmental Education
Center: This is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's website
for environmental education. The site provides access to basic
background
information about the U. S. EPA mission, curriculum resources, and
ongoing community service projects. It also provides details on
available training
and workshops for teachers who are looking to enhance their environmental
education teaching skills. Other information provided includes
how to order free publications, grant opportunities, and descriptions
of student internships and scholarships.
- U.S. EPA Region 5 Environmental
Education: This is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's website
for Region 5 (serving Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio,
Wisconsin and 35 Tribes). It offers links to various resources, such
as grant information, environmental education training, careers, local
and national U.S. EPA programs, ideas for U.S. EPA partnerships and
school-based programs, as well as information on the President's Environmental
Youth Awards.
