Citizen InvolvementRecycling One of the easiest things we can all do to improve our environment is
to recycle wastes whenever possible. Recycling saves natural resources
and energy and reduces the need for landfills or incinerators. It can
also increase local jobs by collecting processing and manufacturing new
products out of discarded materials. The Illinois EPA does not directly permit recycling centers. These are the places where you may take your glass bottles, aluminum cans, newspapers and other household recyclables. Sometimes you may even be paid for delivering these materials. Many private businesses and some local governments operate recycling centers. How do you find them? Here are some tips:
