Medication DisposalMedication DisposalResource/Speaker's BureauNeed assistance in setting up a pharmaceutical drop-off or collection program in your community? The following individuals have worked directly on setting up these programs or have other specialized knowledge on medication disposal and are available to provide advice, and in some cases, speak to your group. Debbie Belt, VP Education/Clinical Services Illinois Health Care Association (800) 252-8988: Will respond to questions on how nursing homes dispose of medications Angela Harris, Recycling Coordinator, Sangamon County Department of Public Health (217) 535-3100, ext. 255: Available to provide advice and speak on organizing collection events. Marta Keane, Recycling Program Specialist, Will County Land Use-Waste Services (815) 774-4343: Will share knowledge and experience in creating both permanent and one-day collection programs. Paul Ritter and Eric Bohm, Prescription Pill and Drug Disposal program: Will share knowledge and experience in creating education and drop-off/collection programs for pharmaceuticals.
