Public Hearing Set on
Five State Water Programs

Springfield, Ill. -- Information
about five specific programs managed by the Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Bureau of Water will
be provided during a hearing July 30, 1997. The hearing, mandated
under the federal Clean Water Act (CWA), will begin at 10 a.m. in
the Mississippi River Room in the Bureau’s offices at 1001
North Grand Ave. E., Springfield. Public comment on the programs
will also be accepted at that time.
The specific programs to be covered
include the drinking water and waste water revolving loan funds,
the nonpoint source management program, the Targeted Watershed
Approach for prioritization of watersheds, the source water
assessment program, and the water quality management plan.
The hearing record for the covered
programs will close at midnight, Aug. 14, 1997. Persons wishing
to comment on the programs should send written statements
postmarked before midnight on that date to Hearing Officer John
