Springfield, Ill. -- The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s
Office of Pollution Prevention is sponsoring a breakfast workshop titled:
"Surface Cleaning in the 21st Century: New Options for Illinois Manufacturers".
The primary focus will be reducing waste generation in surface cleaning
processes. Process changes as well as alternative cleaning solutions will
be discussed. The cost to attend is $15.00. It will be held in four locations
throughout the state. The locations are: April 11 at Jumers in Bloomington,
April 13 at the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows, April 14 at the Best Western
Inn in Burr Ridge and May 18 at Southwestern Illinois Community College
(Formerly Belleville Community College) in Belleville. For all sessions
registration/continental breakfast starts at 8:00 am, welcoming remarks
are at 8:45 and the 2 hour presentation begins at 9:00.
The workshop will focus on helping industry save money and improve
efficiency by using cleaner technologies that generate less waste or
don’t generate any waste. For example, if a company uses a water based
solvent it’s disposal costs are lowered and regulatory burden is eased.
Daniel Kraybill, P.E. with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources
Waste Management and Research Center is the speaker. Mr. Kraybill assists
citizens and businesses in Illinois which have waste management issues,
advising them on matters of pollution prevention and effective waste
management. He has over 20 years experience in environmental management.
