Green Communities Demonstration Program
The Green Communities Demonstration Program operated from 2002 to 2004. Under the program, Illinois EPA provided funding to 15 communities to evaluate local trends and challenges, and plan for the future of their environment. The end result of the process was an environmental vision statement for each community with long-term goals, action steps and timelines for achieving the shared vision. The green visioning plans for each of the participating communities are linked below. They are provided as a resource for those communities that are evaluating the feasibility of developing their own environmental sustainability plan.
