The intern project focused in the following areas that included improving the
sewer pH correction system, determining the scope of improving the boiler blowdown

Assessment Center’s (IAC) energy audit services. The intern made
the following recommendations:

control program.
- Relocate the boiler blowdown pH correction system to an agitated tank where
the pH can be automatically corrected.
- Enroll the facility into the IAC energy audit program to determine potential
opportunities for saving energy.
