Youth Watershed Summit -
  Five students and a teacher from Taylorville High School are representing Illinois at the Youth Watershed Summit, October 6 through the 10, 2002. The students were selected to represent Illinois after their team won first place in the Illinois Envirothon contest May, 2002. The Youth Watershed Summit is being held at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, Maryland.
   
Clean Water Act Display -
  The Bureau of Water in conjunction with Brookfield Zoo has developed a static display highlighting accomplishments of the Clean Water Act over the last 30 years.

National Monitoring Day -

  Citizen monitors, established volunteer monitoring organizations, federal, state and local monitoring staff are invited to participate in National Water Monitoring on October 18, 2002. Participants are encouraged to register their monitoring location by visiting, http://www.yearofcleanwater.org. The deadline for entering testing data is November 15th, 2002. The data will be used to prepare a "snapshot" report summarizing the role and accomplishments of the participants. The data will also be available for view on the Year of Clean Water website.
   
Clean Water Act - Mini Brochure
 

Illinois EPA has developed a pocket-size brochure which highlights the accomplishments of the Clean Water Act since 1972. Copies are available upon request at 217/782-3362. The web brochure has been modified from its original version for optimal web viewing.

Clean Water Act - Banners
  Large banners are still on display at Illinois EPA and on the Illinois State Fairgrounds at Watershed Park. The banners will be on display until the end of the year.
