| Purpose: Provide technical
supervision and scientific analysis to the Illinois Environmental
Protection Agency in issues related to TMDL development in Illinois.
Specific Tasks: The SAC will be called upon to review,
provide comments and discuss TMDL interim reports throughout
the TMDL development process. Efforts will concentrate on
TMDLs for which agriculture is identified as a source of water
quality impairment. Issues to be addressed will include, but
are not limited to: selection of water quality and hydrologic
models; input values, data sources and data availability for
models; dealing with agriculture related runoff issues (e.g.,
surface drainage vs. tiles) and recommending best management
practices and evaluating their effectiveness.
