Streambank Cleanup And Lakeshore Enhancement
Local citizen involvement continues to greatly improve the water quality of Illinois' lakes and streams.
The application period for the 2012 SCALE Program ends November 30, 2012.
The Streambank Cleanup And Lakeshore Enhancement (SCALE) program provides
funds to assist groups that have established a recurring stream or lakeshore
cleanup. Each group can receive up to $3,500 for implementation of their
streambank or lakeshore cleanup events in a calendar year. Funding is
provided by Illinois EPA through Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
The program funds are available only to organizations that have an established,
recurring streambank or lakeshore cleanup. Applications will be selected
for funding based on the event’s proximity to Illinois EPA’s
priority waters the number of people participating in past events and
the size of the event area.
